What is Elmo Thinking about Today?

Elmo opens his door to Cookie Monster eating various foods (besides cookies). A video montage shows kids eating.

Mr. Noodle

Dorothy has a pineapple decoration in her fish bowl. She wants to know how people eat.
Mr. Noodle sits down to eat a plate of spaghetti with all the noodles stuck together.

Dorothy Wants to Ask Someone Else

Kids eat pizza, spaghetti and use chopsticks to eat from a bowl. Elmo talks to a baby with a piece of zwieback toast.

Elmo Has Question for You

Elmo asks the viewer to help him count 10 baked beans chasing one very long hot dog.

Elmo tells the audience who eats and who doesn't. Combs don't, even though they have teeth. Birthday cakes don't, but you can eat one at a birthday party. Trains don't, even though they choo. Grown-ups eat unless their waiter is Grover. Mr. Johnson appears waiting for his food while Grover falls on the floor.

Elmo's friends Timmy and Ashley make a submarine sandwich.

The Eating Channel shows "The Girl Who Loved to Try and Eat New Foods". Coming up next: The Last Taco in Paris.

Elmo talks to an apple. They talk about the characteristics of an apple and where to get apples.

Tickle Me Land

Dorothy imagines Elmo making pizza, picking an apple in an orchard and choosing an apple in a grocery store.

Elmo's Home Video

"Elmo's Breakfast" shows Elmo's breakfast before and after he eats it.

The birthday cake bit in the quiz and film scene were cut on the DVD and online video releases.

  • The slide whistle ascending and descending sound effect after the boing when it opens, and before the boing when it closes, is higher in pitch then usual.
  • This episode has the original boing sound when the door opens on 3 scenes twice at a D flat note, and once on an F note and closes on a different note in 2 scenes. After the guess, what Elmo's thinking about today segment, Elmo closes the door, and the boing sound is played at an E flat note. At the beginning of an interview where Elmo talks to an apple, the door closes, and the boing sound is the same D flat note as it opens.
  • When the guess what Elmo's thinking about today segment begins, the bass trombone slide sound effect is slightly lower then usual.
