Sky is the 32nd episode of Elmo's World.
What is Elmo Thinking about Today?
Elmo opens the door to see CGI animation of the sun, stars and moon. A video montage shows children looking at the sky and pretending to fly toys through the air.
Mr. NoodleDorothy has a copy of The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh on an easel in her fish bowl. She asks, "What do you see when you look up in the sky?". Mr. Noodle rides a toy car, pretends to surf and tries to fly a kite. When the wind finally lifts the kite into the air, it is so strong Mr. Noodle flies into the air as well.
Dorothy Wants to Ask Someone Else
Kids share pictures they drew of things they see in the sky. Elmo asks a baby with a plush bird.
Humphrey and Ingrid ask "Is it a diaper? Is it a blanky? It's Superbaby!" as Baby Natasha flies through the air wearing a green cape.
Elmo Has a Question for You
Elmo and the viewers count 12 birds flying from Elmo's window plus one kangaroo who can't fly but can bounce.
Elmo asks questions about things you see in the sky. Slimey appears in an answer flying a worm-sized biplane.
Elmo's friend Sheryl Lynn and her mommy look at things that fly at the beach.
The Sky Channel shows "The Little Penguin Who Tried To Fly In The Sky".
Elmo talks with the sun and the moon. The room darkens and brightens appropriately in their presence.
Tickle Me Land
Dorothy imagines Elmo dancing on the moon, sitting on a rainbow, and as a constellation, where he fades into a set of connected lines dressed as Roman Elmo holding up a goldfish bowl.
The film scene was cut in many later airings and international broadcasts.
- This is the final episode where Elmo narrates a film insert.
- Footage of Elmo dancing on the moon from the "Tickle Me Land" scene was later used for the credit sequence for Season 38 of Sesame Street.
